When it comes to how your life is viewed by those around you, how can people know that you’re a believer and follower in Jesus Christ, how do they know you’re a Christian?
Some or many would say because they are good, and that is not really the answer I am looking for, I know a lot of good people that like to help others but have no relationship with Christ at all, and don’t want one. For some you will let people know by explaining about your faith in Christ, which is good, but many times that still is not really good enough, because we can use words many times to say something we really don’t mean, but when we put our words and action together, then we are being a living, breathing example of who Christ is to us in our life, and if something is in our life that dictates something else, then we need to remove it.

Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

When claiming to be something like a devoted believer and follower in Christ, which you should be, but does your life depict your actions and line up with your beliefs. To many times people want to say they are something that the actions of there life does not show. Does the philosophy that your preaching line up with your actions and words, if so, that is awesome, but if not, its time to change things up.

Everyone needs to realize that your actions, your behavior is a very powerful example to those around you. Its not about if you’re an example, but whether what kind of an example are you to your family and friends, exactly what kind of an example are you?

Everyone knows what a con-artist is, someone that is smooth with words. So are your words smooth, or are you allowing faith that you live show your true faith behind your words. What you walk speaks louder than your words always.

Try not to let yourself worry about what you don’t understand of the Bible, instead concentrate on what you do understand of the Bible and live by it, and when its time, God will show you something new as you spend time studying and reading the scriptures.

What goes on in your life is your choice, and if you plan on living a good life, that is up to you, but whether you like it or not, your life is an example to others and can make a huge impact not only on your life, but also the lives of others, so the question is, will you choose to live a good and positive life not just for yourself, but for others?

Lord, it’s the weekend, it’s a time where we give thanks to those who have served this country, protecting our Freedom, and I ask you to be with those families that might have someone serving in the military, or maybe they have lost someone that has served in the military. Lord I ask you to please be with the families as they think about there loved ones. Amen

Psalm 8:5 “Yet you made us only a little lower than God and crowned us with glory and honor.:

There is only one person that is like you, and that is person is YOU!!!, even if you’re an identical twin, there are still things that set you apart from each other, no matter how similar you think you are, your still worlds apart from being exactly alike, and that is because that is how God made you, you have been specially and wonderfully made. You’re uniqueness is not only special to God, but to your family and friends, and since God made you to be apart of this world, you have been designed for a special reason in this wonderful world.

I know there are times though when you don’t feel so special or wonderful. There are those times when anger seems to be the only thing surrounding you, or those awesome moments of feeling dejected, then comes those monstrous waves of depression, and all those special moments fade away, and you come crashing down, and you start to no feel so special anymore, like you were actually a mistake, that God made a mistake when creating you, and don’t you know that is exactly what Satan wants you to believe as he whispers those lies into your soul. The sad part is we allow them to creep deep within our souls, tearing and ripping us deep within our inner being, feeling as if nothing can heal us. Satan sometimes even uses people around us, sometimes it can be someone close to us, someone that tells us they love us, and they care about us, but yet there the one that hurts us the most and not even realizing it. That is how Satan works, using those many times the closes to us.

In Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Did you hear what is said, God made you “fearfully and wonderfully.” So never allow yourself to believe lies, “as they say in southern Hebrew, “God don’t make no junk” I mean think about it, when God spent time making everyone of this world, He only made one of you, and you’re the only one that can do what you do. In God’s book, He wants you to think of yourself as a V.I.P. “very important person” and God wants you to have the very best of everything, because you deserve the very best of everything He has to offer you, you know why? Because YOU are worth it.

Lord, there a so many people that beat themselves up on a daily basis, and I ask you today to reach down and help remove the lies that has been breathed into the lives of your children, telling them they are worthless, unwanted, and failures, and breath into each of us the truth of our self worth, allowing us to realize that our gifts and talents mean as much as anyone else’s in this world. Be with everyone in this world Lord, even those that don’t believe are care for you, allow someone speak your love into there lives. Amen.

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 “4 Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. 5 As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. 6 Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let not your hands be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”
Everywhere you turn now days, everyone seems that you have to be perfect, especially when it comes to the expectations of the Media. Everyday your inundated with loads of information of how you need to act, behave, look, and all the way down to what you should be wearing, and if your goal is to please the media, I am sorry to say, your going to either fail miserably, or your going to make your self go crazy and burn yourself out. Well a lot of people, including yourself maybe, think that God feels the same way, you have to become perfect in order to hang with the big guy, well guess what, that is not true, God does not expect you to be perfect, and neither should you.

Did you know working and trying to make yourself perfect is sometimes a form of bondage? The chains of perfectionism can weigh you down from reaching actually goals in your life. Is it wrong to set goals, no, but it’s about taking small steps, not huge giant steps, but actually reachable goals, just like climbing a ladder. You grab one runner at a time and before you know it, you’re at the top. Except when you try and reach your goals with Jesus Christ as part of your team, your not trying to reach the goals on your own, you have an extra boost, a stronger power source to help you reach your goals.

When trying to reach your goals you need to stop for a moment and ask yourself who your trying to impress, and why are you trying to impress that person or those people, its time to stop and priorities your goals. For me, I live my life to not to impress Christ or God, but to give thanks for all that Christ has done for me in my life, for my salvation. They are my first and foremost responsibility, them I have to turn towards my responsibility towards family, then friends, BUT, when it comes to pleasing those of Social media, and bending and compromising my faith, and relationship with Jesus Christ, FORGET IT!!!!, not gonna happen.

If your reading this and your able to say you have asked Jesus into your life and you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I want you to think back to that day when Jesus accepted, it was not just for that day, week, month or a few years, it was for all eternity, and now its your turn to start accepting who you are in Christ and stop listening to all the garbage and lies of social media. If you want that burden and bondage of perfection to be lifted, then accept the person that Christ believes in and starting living your life the Jesus has asked and I promise there is a burden and weight that will be lifted from your spiritual shoulders.

Remember, when it comes to pleasing God, its all about just obeying what He has commanded of you, nothing more and nothing less, just adhering to what He has asked of you from His scriptures, accepting Jesus as your lifeline, your Savior, and always remember, “You can’t please everyone, its impossible, so stop trying”

I know I am not perfect, and I will never be on this planet, but I have realized one thing about perfection. Christians aren’t perfect, they are only forgiven. May God bless you all, and give you the support you truly need. Amen.

Have you ever thought what it takes to become an addict, I mean to the point where it destroys and crushes your health and diminishes all your sanity? I pray this never happens to anyone reading this, but if you are that person that is being crushed with low-or maybe no self esteem, then your have the perfect mixture to what starts someone to becoming an addict. You will allow yourself to become steered by lies that you have surrounded yourself, and you will be inundated with negative consequences, not to mention a mountain of negative self-esteem.

When most people think of addiction, they think of drugs, alcohol, but addiction can go way further and beyond those two, it can go where you addicted to shopping, relationships, (people pleaser) addicted about weight, your looks, you can become addicted to anything, anything can overcome you in a bad way, and did you know that Satan can use those little or big addictions to destroy you. Its our responsibility to keep our mindset sober and alert to what Satan can use against us, to rip us apart and to destroy us.

1 Peter 5:8 “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

I know that each one of us can probably name the names of someone that is a full-blown addict, unless you’re living in a cave or on some remote deserted island, you can name one or more people you know that has been overcome with some sort of addiction, heck, you might be dealing with it yourself right now. The one thing you need to know and realize is this one and most important thing: Help is available to you, and your loved ones that are dealing with addiction, and many have seek help for there addiction and they have lived to share about there journey of struggles and fights they have dealt with, so its about not giving up hope, because hope is just a grasp away.

When someone is dealing with an addiction like drinking, you must realize that person is not responsible for the last drink they have taken, but they are responsible for the first one. If your experimenting has become something that has taken over your life and that substance has become a substance that is abusive to your body and mind, then I beg and plea with you to seek the help that you much needed, but I pray your one that has spared yourself from experimenting with some stupid addictive substance because if you have stayed away, you have spared yourself and your loved ones of so much pain and heartache.

I myself have been addicted to things that I shouldn’t have been apart of, but now I have become a teetotaler. I become disgusted with the way I felt, with the time I would loose, not to mention how I would mistreat my friends and family during those stupid moments. I have been dry now for over 22 years not allowing a mind altering substance to enter my body anymore. I became tired of spiraling out of control in my life because I could not handle what I thought I was able to handle, but realized I was only lying to myself, which mint I had to remove myself and some people from my life, and replaced them with Jesus Christ, best decision of my life.

We need to realize that an addiction cannot live very long in the same body, the addiction will eventually alter you inside first then it will slowly start to destroy the outside. I ask you to stand and defeat the lies of Satan. Let Christ have victory over your life and the things in it. Remember, your not standing alone.

2 Timothy 4:17 “But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth.”

I will be lifting you up in prayer today, hoping the Lord can and will reveal Himself to you in a supernatural way. Letting you know that He is there beside you holding your hand, and sometimes just carrying you to help you preserve your own strength for something else. Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I have done a devo on here, took a sabbatical for few months. But have some food for thought today, so get your brains cranked up and ponder this for a moment.

In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”
I want you to take a moment and think about what these words mean to you personally, after thinking about them; write these verses down yourself, but putting them in your own words. What exactly do they mean to you personally? And how do you see change in your own personal life everyday?

If we don’t stretch ourselves in every aspect of life, we don’t grow; we become stagnate and start to die from the inside out. Love to you all, and pray you’re all being touched by the Masters Hand.

On my way to preach at Long Shoals Baptist Church here in Asheville at 11. Preaching as if its my last sermon ever, in fact we should live for Christ like that.

When we go through things, we have to have someone or people to lean on, to get support from, but many times when we are hurting or struggling, those around us that tell us that they love us, they support you, are not really there, they are going on with there life as usually while you are feeling as if your in quicksand.

Many times as you’re by yourself crying and being alone, all you really want is someone to give you some encouraging words, to hear that special someone tell you they Love you and they are there for you, that they really care about you.

Not sure where you are today in your life, and what activities have gotten you down, or has you worried and fretting, but today you need to realize that when those around you have let you down, or as you feel has let you down, or you have felt you have been forgotten, there is another special someone that loves you dearly. Jesus loves you very much, and He shared this from the book of Jeremiah 31:3 “the LORD appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”

We need to try and not worry so much as we should trust that the Lord has everything under control, we just need to realize it might not today this very second, but someday it will be ok, one day it will be better, so start working on drying those tears and realize that when you finally look up, you are not alone because Jesus is and has always been right there with you all alone. You need to realize that He is there for you, and He want leave you, Ever.

Jesus, I know so many people around this world are hurting, dealing with difficult circumstances and situations within there lives, and I come to you today asking you to please blanket your children with your love so they realize they are not alone, to let them know they do have someone there for them, but Jesus, I also know that we actually need that physical concern and love, so please Lord, send true and real friends that are willing to stand with and beside those in need, healing them to heal during these moments of seclusion and being alone. Amen.

I come to you all today not really knowing what your week has held for you, but I want you to know that I am lifting you all up in prayer asking the Lord to come and lay His hands upon you all and to start a work within each and everyone one of you. Please know if you need someone to talk to, please send me a note, and I will do what I can to be an encouragement to you, I know what its like to need someone and no one being there, so hit me up. Usually when you wake up you will throw your arms up and out stretching your body, shaking and then giving a groan as your try and wake your body up so you can get your day started, or at least that is how I wake up. Its almost like doing an inspection of my body to see if everything is working properly but what about the muscle in our head, that thing we call a brain, how do we wake that up and stretch it out with the hopes that it will work properly and correctly for the day as we have to make those wise and careful decisions in life.

When we get our day started, we usually do what the world has told us to do, go and make coffee, go and read the morning paper, shower, shave, fix your hair, put on make up, (if you’re the make up kind) brush your teeth, put on clothes, and so on etc…….. that is how we do, why, because that is the norm for living in this world, that is how we have been taught, that is what we believe it takes in order to live and survive in this world, its what we believe to be the will of life placed before us, but what if there could be a different way, something not so strenuous or crazy.

What would happen if you actually took the time to seek out the will of God first thing in the morning, yeah, I know you have a job to go to, or classes at school to attend, but what if there were some things could be done different, that did not take priority over our life as we think they should or need to. What if we actually took time to stretch brain muscle and spend time seeking out the will of God, now that is a crazy concept, huh.

Have you come to a point in life where you will seems to be driving you crazy, that its not very pleasing to you and seem to be something far from perfect. Well you do have options people, Helllllllllllloooooooo, what about the will of God for your life, what about actually spending time reading His word and praying about what you should do for the day, or pray about exactly what kind of order needs to take place in order to be in the center of God’s will for you life.

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

What a concept, actually having your mind renewed and seeking out something that is approved by God, the creator of this world and everything within this universe for your life, which will be pleasing and more perfect than that ideal I have for my life, huh, what a new concept. Well actually its not new, its just we get so focused on what we want, that we ignore and forget that God does have a plan for our life, and skip right over what God continually skip over those blessings God keeps trying to place in and upon our life.

So this each morning, instead of just stretching our your body muscles, don’t forget to stretch out that brain muscle as well, and see what God has for you each day of your life. Prepare for some blessings to come your way, Woooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo, I know I love me some blessings, especially when they are from the Lord himself. :o)

Lord I come before you seeking your help and will for my life, helping me to separate myself and my will from those things that have no place for me, those things that seem to keep me from advancing in this life you have given to me. Jesus, I know I am not alone here, and so I come lifting up not only myself, but anyone else that feels this way, those who are trying there best and hardest to seek your will out for there life. Help us to stretch our that brain muscle and use it they way you would want us to, to better ourselves with in you Lord. Thank you for your help Lord, we praise you for taking the time to listen to our heart cry. Lord, I pray we can bring a smile to you, as we fervently seek out your will for our life. Amen

Praying the Lords blessings with be on each and everyone one of you today. That things will not be the same ole same for you, that you will work to get outside that box you have not only placed yourself in, but also that box you have place Jesus Christ, in, I promise, He lives out side your box, waaaaaaaaaaay outside your box, why not jump out and join the Lord and start living your life to the fullest. Peace.

Every have someone say they will pray for you, or someone ask for prayer, and we walk off and that moment of prayer slips by you or them. Why is it we pass up the moment to spend time with God, that we an excuse to not to enter the courts of praise with our Heavenly Father? Are we really that busy, or is it we are really that embarrassed to stop for just a moment to lift up a friend, or someone in need of prayer. There are people all around us, including yourself are hurting and very much need prayer, they need to feel the healing touch of the creator of this world, they need to feel and know they are loved.


Many times when we or someone request prayer, we usually want to know what exactly is the need, but in truth, we don’t need to know because God already knows the need, its just that person just needs support, they might just need to feel as if there is mercy being placed upon there, or maybe they just need strength so they don’t go crazy and just loose it.

Many times we think we know exactly what is going on in the life of those around us, but in truth, we all play the game, putting on a happy face, hiding our troubles and suppressing our pain that is ripping us apart. Is pray just for those who are dealing with debt? No. Is prayer just for those who have found out they have some kind of sickness? No. Prayer is actually for anything and everything, there are no boundaries when it comes to prayer. So with that noted, then why are we so apprehensible to actually pray, not talking about praying over your meal, I am talking about actually, getting either on your physical knees or at least on your spiritual knees and spending time with Jesus in prayer. Hey, if praying is not too good for Christ, then what makes you think you’re above it?

Prayer is one of the most intimate things you can do in your relationship with Christ, not to mention with friends and loved ones. It’s a moment where everyone becomes equal, and all strong holds and statues are thrown to the wayside. A moment in prayer can change your whole life, your perception and most important your heart. There is a saying that comes to those who are dieting, “A moment on your lips, is a lifetime on your hips” I head this said by many of women growing up as a child, but I have realized that this statement is even true when it comes to prayer, but with a little different twist, “A moment of prayer on your lips, is a lifetime for our souls.” Prayer can take just a second, or minutes or up to hours, just depends on how intimate you want to get with your Savior.

When we go into prayer, usually we are seeking mercy and grace from the Lord during our request, our homage, and during that moment of prayer, it can change us from the inside out, leading us to the road of healing ourselves and just maybe this world.

Psalm 31:9 “Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am in distress. Tears blur my eyes. My body and soul are withering away.”

So go ahead, spend time in prayer, pray for injustice in this world, and pray for modern science to advance. Pray for God to give real wisdom to remove and eradicate poverty and sickness; pray not only for yourself but others as they come to your mind. Nothing is too small or to large. When it comes to prayer, everything is fair game, so let nothing stand in the way of your spending time in prayer with your Lord.

Jesus, I come to you in a time of need, I seek and ask for your strength. Your scriptures say you’re my strength and shield; you are my refuge in troubled times, so I come with a longing heart Jesus, my body grows weary Lord, but I ask you to keep my spirit firm and strong in you. Renew my strength, my faith. Jesus, even though at times I am blanketed by illness, not just physical but also spiritual, I seek the comfort of your healing hands upon my body and soul. I ask you to touch those I will come in contact with, or those I love that are hurting in some way or form. Help them to find mercy and comfort in you Lord. “But LORD, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.” Isaiah 33:2. Amen.

Many times when we read and study the word of God, we just read it and then try to figure out how to apply it to there lives, which is fine, but what about actually taking a moment as you reading the word of God while praying through it? Its not a new concept, its just something that a lot of people really don’t do while reading.

How is the best process to pray while reading scriptures, its easy, just take a verse like 1 Peter 5:7 “ Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” and as you read and pray through it, just switch up the verse a little by saying, Lord Jesus, I am going to trust you and give you no just some of my worries, but all of my worries. Jesus I know you will take care of them, but also you will take care of me.

As you pray through scriptures, it’s not only about praying through scriptures that show a need, but also praying through scriptures where you can praise the Lord like Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Lord Jesus, as I read and study your scriptures, I ask you to help my heart to be cleaned out, so I will have abundance of room to hide your word with in my heart, so I can have it with me at all time so I will not commit sins against you, allow your hidden word within my heart to keep me close to you Lord.

As you read and pray through God’s word, allow the Holy Spirit to come and dwell with in your time, anointing and blessing your time as you read, it helps you as you read to come into the presence of God. While praying and reading, make sure you make this time a person moment, God knows who you are, but allow this time to help you come into a more intimate relationship with Christ, making the scriptures become your very own, apart of your life.

What ever way you read, allow the Word of God to be used as your personal weapon against anything that tries to rise up against you that is not of God. Remember, as you read and the word of God comes out of your mouth, that you gain power and strength, and Gods word is the most powerful weapon that can bring victory over any of the conflicts you face from day to day. So open up your bible and release the power source that is within the pages of God’s word.

Lord, I come to you today thanking you for allowing me to inter your courts of praise. I ask you to empower each of your children as they spend time reading and praying, helping them to grow strong in you and your word. Equip us with your strength and power as Hebrews 4:12 says that “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” As we pray, speak your word Lord, we are coming in an agreement believing you will release your power as we pray, and believing that that we will benefit from praying through the scriptures. We praise you Lord, and thank you for giving us your love and word to help increase our lives. Amen.

Let Jesus take over your life, helping you in every way possible, when you do, you will come to a new understanding of what it means to be showered by the blessings of God. Much love to you all, and I pray that God will ignite your heart to come closer to Him not only through talking to Him, but as you read, study His word. Let it impact you beyond your wildest thoughts. Love my friends.
